Storms Noberto and Léon hit France at the beginning of March 2020, they uprooted many trees, including this hornbeam tree with a sinuous trunk in my in-laws garden. The original shape of the trunk made me want to create furniture there, each piece is unique thanks to the irregular and meandering outline of the trunk of this hornbeam tree. The pieces were carved right where the tree fell and they were stored to dry for a year in my workshop. The wood has lived and « worked », many cracks have appeared : the dovetail keys have made it possible to permanently fix the final shape of the pieces. Finally, the use surfaces, seats / trays are then polished and waxed. The feet and the underside of the pieces are left rough.
